Platinum Stat
About
I made twelve sets. Eleven sold in the first week.
Platinum Stat started in the autumn of 2018 with an evening-wear problem: women spend serious money on a gown and then pair it with mass-market underwear that bunches under the fabric. We rented a small studio space in a residential building in Tokyo, bought a roll of Calais lace, and made twelve sets. Eleven sold in the first week through a private LINE group.

The first two years were mostly trial. The original bra pattern was too short in the torso for women above a C cup, and we spent the better part of winter 2019 regrading every size from scratch. We also learned, the hard way, that the dye lots on Italian lace can shift between orders, so we now buy a full season's worth of each colourway in a single purchase and stores it flat in acid-free tissue. By 2021 the studio had a small waiting list for made-to-measure bras, and we took on one part-time finisher to handle the hand-stitching on the waistbands.
